These Pantone specifications are for printing purposes only. They provide a guide for selecting appropriate ink colors to closely match the standard colors of traffic control signs. The Pantone specifications are not for use in sign fabrication. Furthermore, these Pantone color seclections may lie outside the gamut of the standard RGB colorspace, so the advantage of using them is lost when using desktop design software or consumer printers which just process colors as RGB values.
